Keller at the dawn of French Art Deco in 1929, Gustave Keller moved his shop Avenue Matignon Paris and was active in the 1920s and 1930s.
He was already producing some of the best Art Deco for a few years. Even his objects exhibited at the Exposition universelle internationale de 1900 Paris were noted in Rapports du Jury international, Goupe XV: industries diverses. Introduction of gold and silverwork without relief, without chasing, a unified style of silverwork where only the quality of the lines with the streamline curves and shapes were more important as witnessed in incredible Art Deco toilette/travel sets. Art Deco has its roots in France. The style known today as Art Deco hit the world in 1925, at the Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels, a sort of world's fair for -though it had actually begun to develop several years earlier. Art Deco built on the stylized cleanly-lined forms of style. Art Moderne dates approximately from the early 1930s and shares many of the qualities associated with the that period: boldness and sharpness.
Art Deco placed an emphasis on shape and absence of superfluity, but Moderne was positively streamlined (a new scientific theory of that time: the shaping of objects along curving lines to cut wind resistance and make them move more efficiently).
